Employee Recruitment Fair

Bulloch County Schools hosts an annual Employee Recruitment Fair each spring to provide information about its many public education career opportunities and provide a key networking opportunity for hiring supervisors, principals, and interested candidates. While the school district is Bulloch County's second-largest employer and hires new employees year round, its main hiring season is February to August.

2020 Employee Recruitment Fair

Bulloch County Schools’ annual Employee Recruitment Fair, which was scheduled for Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon,at Statesboro High School, has been postponed due to our school district's social distancing efforts with the coronavirus (COVID-19). In the interim, we encourage interested applicants to visit our online jobs site, apply for currently posted positions, monitor the site for new postings now through August, and set up an account within the system and upload your resume and credentials to be automatically included in the pool of applications for jobs for which you are qualified. If you need more information or assistance, contact our Human Resources Department at 912.212.8500.

Invitation to Bus Driver Applicants

For those interested in bus driver positions, complete an online application, or contact our Transportation Department at 912.212.8640 or visit their offices between 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, at 219 Simons Road, in Statesboro, Georgia, to complete a paper application. They can share with you about how you can be paid while you train and qualify for signing bonuses of $500 and $750.

Interested applicants must be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), satisfy a criminal background check, and pass a physical drug test. While any interested persons are encouraged to attend and apply, the flexible hours, pay, and benefits for school bus drivers makes this an excellent opportunity for a stay-at-home parent, home-based business owner, small business owner, retiree, or anyone who is seeking a bi-vocational opportunity.

Bulloch County Schools

Bulloch County Schools is the county's second-largest employer with more than 2,200 full-time, part-time, contracted services, seasonal, and substitute employees. It serves nearly 11,000 students through its 15 schools, alternative learning centers, and four office complexes. We employ approximately 750 certified teachers and administrators and nearly 1500 support professionals and skilled laborers.

Employee Recruitment Fair's Purpose

Bulloch County Schools posts and hires teaching and non-teaching positions year-round, but its main hiring season is February - August in preparation for each new school year. The school district will post and hire for more than 50 positions during this peak hiring season. The Employee Recruitment Fair helps all of the school district’s hiring supervisors, which includes all principals and all district office administrators, to gather and meet face-to-face with a diverse pool of potential applicants from which to hire. Each will host individual exhibit spaces to help applicants learn about specific schools or areas of support service and provide them an opportunity to have meaningful conversations with the key personnel who make the hiring decisions.

Available Job Types

Bulloch County Schools encourages interested applicants for all job types to attend: administrators, teachers, special education teachers and support professionals, counselors, nurses, clerical workers bookkeepers, school food services workers, school bus drivers, school bus monitors, custodians, paraprofessionals, and more. Applicants who are interested in being a substitute for any of these type positions are also encouraged to attend.

Bring a resume if you have one, particularly is you are seeking a teaching position, or visit the event's resume resource table for tips about how to create one.

It's Important to Attend
  • Meet and network with the people who make the hiring decisions: principals, supervisors, and employees who serve on job interview panels.
  • Learn about the school district and the schools are departments that are of interest to you.  Each will be exhibiting separately, so you choose where to visit.
  • Learn how to create an online profile on Bulloch County Schools’ online jobs website, Applitrack, so you can be considered for any current or upcoming job postings. This ensures you are immediately included in the pool of applicants to be reviewed and possibly interviewed when a job is posted.
  • Get noticed! Because some job postings receive a large number of applicants, attending the Employee Recruitment Fair helps you stand out and helps hiring supervisors remember their contact with you.
  • Participants interested in bus driver and bus monitor positions can immediately complete a paper job application at the event, meet and ask questions of Transportation Department personnel, and attend a special 30-minute session to learn about signing bonuses of $500 - $750 and paid training options.
Want to be a teacher?

People who have a four-year degree in an area other than education, and who are interested in becoming a certified teacher are also encouraged to attend. The school district will have a staffed information booth with representatives and information about state certification program options.
