Absences

Parents will be required to submit documentation of student absences to the registrar for the Bulloch County Schools Virtual Program.  Up to five absences may be excused by the parent using the Virtual Student Absence Excuse Form, indicating the absence was for an excusable reason.  Absences beyond five (5) will require submission of acceptable documentation, as required by JBD: Absences and Excuses.

Up to five absences may be excused by the parent for technical reasons in regards to internet connectivity or chromebook issues using the same excuse form as above. These issues must also be communicated to the teacher at the time that they occur. Absences beyond the five will be considered unexcused. 

In certain circumstances where a student has already demonstrated mastery of the standards that are expected to be covered,  a teacher may determine that a student’s presence in a particular meeting is not required.  In this case, the teacher will notify the student or parent of the exemption and attendance will not be required.

Students experiencing significant health challenges that may qualify the student for Hospital Homebound services should inform the child’s homeroom teacher immediately.
