Elementary Expectations (Grades Kindergarten through Fifth)

Required meeting times for elementary students in the regular education program will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Special education students may require additional afternoon meeting times.

Regular education students and parents can expect up to four, 30 to 45 minute academic sessions to be scheduled during these hours each day for every elementary student in their household.  Additional services may be required for special education students in accordance with the student’s Individualized Education Plan.

Elementary students will also be required to participate in an electives course.  

Attendance in all required sessions, both academic and electives, will be mandatory unless excused in compliance with JBD: Absences and Excuses or exempted by the teacher.

Additional opportunities beyond the required minimal participation times may be offered by teachers to provide enrichment or remediation.
