The Virtual Program's Relationship to the School

The Bulloch County Schools Virtual Program is considered an extension of the traditional “brick-and-mortar” schools.  While virtual classes will be composed of students from across Bulloch County, each student will continue to maintain his or her enrollment in their home school.

Services Provided by Virtual Program

Virtual Learning program teachers and support staff will provide the following services to families:

  • Instruction in content areas and subjects offered in the virtual setting
  • Delivery of supplemental services, including special education, Gifted, English to Speakers of Other Languages, and section 504
  • Continuous monitoring of overall student success in the Virtual Program by a homeroom teacher
  • Administrative support for parents and students experiencing any difficulties in the Virtual Program
  • Technical support for student platform and software access

Services Provided by the School

The following services and supports will continue to be provided by the student’s home school:

  • Student information management (household changes, School Choice, etc.)

  • Extracurricular activities, including athletics and clubs

  • Counseling and social work services

  • Coordination of mandatory in-person testing

  • High school academic advisement; monitoring progress towards graduation

  • *High school graduations

*For the purposes of high school graduation, the class rank of virtual program students will be in relation to the students at his or her home school.  Scholarships and recognitions, such as Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) student, valedictorian and or salutatorian, etc., are school-based, not program-based.  Students will be compared to traditional students attending the brick-and-mortar school for these purposes.
