Parents' Right to Know

In compliance with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act , parents may request the following information:

  • Whether their child's teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction.
  • Whether their child's teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived.
  • Whether their child's teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
  • Whether their child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

If you wish to request information about a teacher's or a paraprofessional's qualifications, please contact the principal at your child's school.

Parents and guardians have a right to be involved in the planning and implementation of the Parent & Family Engagement Program at their child's school.
