Gifted Education Services

Once nominations are closed, each school's eligibility team will review student data to determine if a formal evaluation for gifted services is required.

• Nominations do not guarantee a formal evaluation.
• Gifted Services are based on need.
• The review team must establish whether the evidence confirms the need for a formal evaluation.
• If the evidence confirms the need for a formal evaluation, the parents or guardians of the identified students will receive a Permission to Test Form to sign and return to their child's school. This form is required before testing can begin.
• Testing will begin after teams have taken time for the data review and the receipt of permission to test is received by the gifted teacher at the child's home school. 

Bulloch County Schools does not use private test data to determine eligibility.  It may be used as a referral for further evaluation.  Gifted students who enroll from an out-of-state program must meet Georgia requirements in order to be placed in the gifted services program.  All scores must be current within two years and additional assessment may be necessary. Thinking skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, and spatial reasoning are extremely important. Through introduction and practice of these skills, your child will be better prepared for all content areas as well as testing and assessments. Advanced Placement courses are college-level courses offered by trained high school teachers in the regular high school setting. Advanced Placement courses are offered to students in ninth through twelfth grades to provide a more rigorous level of instruction with potential for college course credit. These courses are part of the gifted services we offer students at the high school level. Contact your faculty adviser or your school's guidance counselor to learn about the Advanced Placement course options that best fit your individual high school graduation and post-secondary plan.
