Screening results, along with other classroom and academic data, will be used to determine whether a student may benefit from additional reading support.
- Students identified as At Some Risk may receive targeted small-group interventions through Tier 2 support.
- Students identified as At Risk may receive more intensive interventions through Tier 3 support.
These interventions are provided in addition to regular classroom instruction and are designed to address each student's specific reading needs. Parents will be notified if their child is identified for Tier 2 or Tier 3 reading interventions. Schools will regularly monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed based on student growth and performance.
If a student receives Tier 3 interventions and is not demonstrating adequate progress, the school will complete a Characteristics of Dyslexia Checklist/Rubric. The results will help determine whether the student may benefit from a Characteristics of Dyslexia Support Plan. Parents will be notified and will be active participants in the development and implementation of any support plan.
It is important to note that participation in reading interventions or completion of a Characteristics of Dyslexia Checklist does not automatically indicate that a student has dyslexia. These processes are designed to identify student needs early and provide appropriate support to improve reading outcomes.
