Complete Mandated Reporter Training
Thank You for Your Interest
Thank you for your interest in Bulloch County Schools. We are excited to develop a partnership with you as a visitor and/or volunteer. We thank you for caring about the needs of our schools and being willing to offer your assistance.
Visitors
Visitors are those who attend our schools for the purpose of supporting the school community by attending class parties, awards ceremonies, celebrations, conferences, competitions, performances, and other such events.
Visitors are always under supervision by member(s) of the school staff and are never alone with students. Visitors are required to use the check-in and check-out system at the schools each time they enter and leave campus. Individuals not clearing the sex offender registry check may be denied entry in accordance with school system security protocols.
Volunteers
Bulloch County Schools has many opportunities for those who wish to lend their talents and expertise to enhancing the school experience of our students, faculty, and staff. In order to preserve a safe environment for our students and provide opportunities for all interested individuals to be involved, Bulloch County Schools distinguishes between two levels of volunteers:
- Standard volunteers
- Authorized volunteers.
Standard Volunteers
Standard volunteers are those who wish to be of service to school(s) but do not have interactions with students that are not under the direct supervision of staff members. Examples include:
- Parent Teacher Organization or Booster Club Members
- Speakers / Presenters
- Guest Readers

- May not be unsupervised while working with students. If you are interested in providing more direct services to students with indirect supervision, please review the steps necessary to become an Authorized Volunteer.
- May not film or photograph students.
Authorized Volunteers
Authorized volunteers are those who wish to be of service to school(s) by working with students during activities where direct supervision by a staff member cannot be continuously provided. Examples include:
- Mentors
- Tutors

Authorized volunteers must submit to the following process for approval:

- Complete the Bulloch County Schools Authorized Volunteer Application
- Complete a background check through Bulloch County Schools. This requires fingerprinting be conducted in-person at the Bulloch County Schools Central Office at the volunteer’s expense ($43.25 to $46.00, depending on method of payment). You may make an appointment by contacting our Central Office at 912.212.8500.
