Questioning & Apprehension by Law Enforcement on School Premises

Georgia Law authorizes law enforcement personnel to come onto school campuses for the purposes of both interviewing and arresting students.

School system officials cannot impede law enforcement personnel in their investigative efforts.

Under Georgia law, juveniles that are charged with a crime do not have a right to have their parents present when being questioned by law enforcement personnel.

Law enforcement officials will be asked to sign a Student Release Into Custody form prior to removing a student from the school premises.
