Langston Chapel Health Center

Opening Fall 2025

Bulloch County Schools has partnered with East Georgia Healthcare Center to offer a school-based health center on the shared Langston Chapel campus to serve the students and employees of both Langston Chapel Elementary School and Langston Chapel Middle School. Initially funded by a $1 million grant from the Georgia Department of Education, it will become a self-sustaining health center. The goal is to help remove the multiple barriers that our Langston Chapel families experience with receiving quality healthcare, which will in turn help lessen disruptions to their children's education and improve their academic achievement.

Parent Consent: Register Your Child

The Langston Health Center is an extension of the Langston Schools' nurse clinics. Nurses may refer students to the health center for same-day care if we have pre-registered parental consent.

If your child is enrolled at either of the Langston Chapel schools, and you would like for your child to have access to the Langston Chapel Health Center, please

Complete the consent form; and
Give consent again when you are contacted by the school, if the school nurse is requesting to refer your child to the Health Center for further care. You may attend the health appointment with your child, or take part via phone or Internet.

Private insurance
Medicaid
PeachCare for Kids
Self payments. If you do not have insurance, you may be eligible for a sliding scale fee based on your household income.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child be seen without my consent? No. Children will only be referred to the Langston Chapel Health Center if their custodial parent has first, previously registered their consent, and second, provided consent again on the day of a referral request by a school nurse.
Is this health center being subsidized by local taxpayers? No. The Langston Chapel Health Center was initially funded by a $1 million grant from the Georgia Department of Education. Thereafter, it will be self-sustaining once it begins seeing at least 10 patients per day with payments for services being covered by insurance, Medicare, PeachCare for Kids, or private funds.
Can the Langston Chapel Health Center be used by students or school district employees from other Bulloch County schools? No. This health center may only be used by students and employees of Langston Chapel Elementary School and Langston Chapel Middle School.
Will the school district have access to private health information? No. Federal laws protect the privacy of a person's health information. The private health information of patients of Langston Chapel Health Center will be managed and protected by the employees of East Georgia Healthcare Center, a federally qualified health center.
Will the school district or either of the two schools hire the Langston Chapel Health Center's employees? No. Bulloch County Schools has partnered with East Georgia Healthcare Center to operate the Langston Chapel Health Center. It will manage the health center's operations, including hiring.
