In 1998 William James Middle School moved into the newly renovated Northside Elementary School.   Since the move to the new location, the media center collection has grown from 7,000 to over 11,000 items.

WJMS has also grown in the area of technology.  Since the move, the media center started with six student computers and has expanded to twenty-three.  The total number of computers in the school has increased from 150 to over 400.

To aid in the instructional process, WJMS has utilized programs such as Fast ForWord, STAR Reading, STAR Math, Accelerated Reader, Compass Odyssey, Accelerated Math, and Classroom Performance System.
