Bulloch County Schools is a public, pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade school system located in southeast Georgia. We serve more than 10,300 students in a consolidated system with 15 campuses and one alternative learning center. We are the 38th largest school district in Georgia, and Bulloch County's second-largest employer with nearly 1,400 employees. Our student to teacher ratio is 16:1.
Bulloch County is an education community with a choice of public, private and homeschool K-12 options for parents, plus three post-secondary institutions within the county (Georgia Southern University, East Georgia State College and Ogeechee Technical College).
Bulloch County Schools and each of its schools faithfully engages in an accreditation process with AdvancED every five years to improve the quality of our School system and its schools. AdvancED was formerly known as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. AdvancED conducted a Quality Assurance Review on September 18 - September 21, 2011, and determined that our school district and each of our schools meets the Accreditation Standards for a Quality School system. Our next Quality Assurance Review is scheduled for March 5-8, 2017.
Strategic Waiver School System
The school system is currently applying to become a strategic-waiver school system through the Georgia Department of Education's flexibility options.

Optimization of Resources
Our school system is known at the state and national level for having sound financial management. To see the school system's most recent audits, visit the Business & Finance Department area of our website.
We also ensure that our leadership and teacher teams are effectively trained and empowered to carry out our strategic plan and school-level improvement plans by providing ongoing local and off-site training. With education partners like First District RESA, the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement, the Georgia Department of Education and more, we have trained our administrators and faculty in standards-based classrooms, professional learning communities, school improvement, state curriculum standards and more.
