SHINE Clubhouse in conjunction with Pineland Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will host a Youth Mental Health Symposium on Monday, Oct.15, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. The keynote speaker is Aric Bostic, a former teacher, who is now a national motivational speaker about leadership, overcoming personal challenges, and achieving life-long goals. He is the author of the book, "Fired Up Success!"
The event includes sessions for youth, professionals, and parents. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available by request for professionals who need them. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. An ice cream social and dance will be provided for the youth attendees after the event ends at 4 p.m. Bulloch County Schools is on fall break the week of Oct. 15 - 19.
