Bulloch County Schools will host an Employee Recruitment Fair on Saturday, February 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, at Sallie Zetterower Elementary School in Statesboro. Principals and hiring supervisors hope to meet people interested in teacher, special education, school nutrition, bus driver, custodian, and paraprofessional positions with the district in addition to substitutes for each of these areas. Participants are encouraged to bring a resume.

“We are in our main hiring season February through August,” said Bulloch County Schools' Human Resources Director Phillip Tremble. He sees the event as the new, annual way to better inform interested candidates about the school system. “It’s a great opportunity to meet and network face-to-face with those who make our hiring decisions and learn how to apply for open positions.”

Individuals with four-year degrees in non-education fields who are interested in becoming a teacher may also obtain information about the Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) Program.

Bulloch County Schools is one of Bulloch County’s largest employers with more than 1,750 full-time, part-time, substitute, seasonal and contracted services employees. Teachers make up nearly 800 of those positions. The remainder are support staff who support services to the district’s more than 10,600 students, 15 schools, and alternative learning centers.
