The Department of Teaching & Learning supports the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction by overseeing the Georgia Pre-Kindergarten program at 11 of our campuses.   The department oversees the school nurses that are deployed at each school.  Related to that area, it also helps parents, faculty and administrators to understand and implement Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973/Public law 93-112, which is a comprehensive law that addresses the rights of handicapped persons and applies to all agencies receiving federal financial assistance. It eliminates barriers to education programs and services, increases building accessibility, and equitable employment practices are thoroughly and specifically addressed in Section 504 regulations.
