Graduation Requirements

Juniors and Seniors transferring into Bulloch County Schools can meet state graduation requirements and be exempt from system requirements if meeting system requirements would delay graduation. Students cannot be exempt from state course requirements or the Georgia High School Graduation Tests.

Effective spring of 2006, students graduating must meet all unit requirements for graduation and pass all five areas (Writing, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science) of the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT) or meet the requirements for a "Diploma of Performance" as specified in a student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) to walk in the graduation ceremonies. Students who earn the required units for graduation and do not pass each area (Writing, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science) of the required GHSGT will not be allowed to walk in graduation ceremonites. The GHSGT is given in the eleventh grade and five opportunities are offered to students to take and pass the five parts of the GHSGT before graduation in the spring of the twelfth grade.
