Board Hears from Community at "Speak Up for Education"

The Bulloch County Board of Education continued to engage the public about the strategic direction of the school system during a Speak Up for Education event held Thursday, February 27,2014, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Statesboro High School. This was the second event of this type to be hosted by the Bulloch County Board of Education.

In 2013, the Board and school system embarked on a three-month community engagement process, which included an Education Summit. Input from the community helped shape the Bulloch County Schools Strategic Plan 2013-2020.  The recent "Speak Up for Education" event continued this community engagement and focused on one of five strategic goals, "College & Career Readiness."

The breakout sessions at "Speak Up for Education" were set up to gather input on how we as a community can accomplish the following: (1) Ensure all Bulloch County's children are ready for kindergarten (Early Learning); (2) Ensure all Bulloch County graduates are ready for college and careers (College & Career Readiness); and (3) Ensure Common Core will help our children achieve. If you were unable to attend this event, below are links to each breakout session's handouts and any opening remarks by speakers.
